International university competition about creative recycling of residual fabrics

For more than 125 years Création Baumann has been producing countless metres of fabrics. Leftover material or textiles with imperfections are given to charity or offered to factory sales outlets. And yet, many metres of material remain rolled up in the warehouse just waiting for a meaningful use.

With the Think Forward competition „RECREATE TEXTILES“ Création Baumann is seeking creative and ecological as well as economically meaningful solutions for using discontinued lines in a second life cycle.

The competition addresses students involved in design, fashioning, interior design, architecture and technology. An interdisciplinary jury of specialists will award prize money totalling EUR 10,000 to the five best entries.

Registration closes on October 31, 2012. As the competition projects can be undertaken in the form of semester studies the final date of submission is two semesters later, on 31 July, 2013.
