Soft darkening
Création Baumann presents the “Dimmer“ blackout fabric in new designs
Daylight can be unwelcome at times. For example in conference rooms, where illustration material needs to be displayed to best advantage or in hotel rooms where somebody would like to take a short nap during the day. With “Dimmer II“ Création Baumann, the textile enterprise from Langenthal, offers blackout fabrics which solve this problems as attractively as they do effectively.

“Dimmer“ was launched four years ago – a world first. Prior to then there were only heavy and stiff blackout fabrics on the market. Following several years of research and development, Création Baumann succeeded in creating a highly functional fabric, which convinces with both its look and quality. The exceptionally fine Trevira CS yarn is woven in an extremely high warp and weft density and therefore has a very compact surface. The blackout effect is further enhanced with a black yarn that is interwoven into the back of the fabric. The textile enterprise’s best seller has already received numerous accolades. Applications include the Hotel Cerruti Radisson SAS in Düsseldorf, Hotel Park Hyatt in Zurich and Hotel Bel Ami in Paris.

The high quality, flame retardant blackout is now available in a colour palette of 49 new colours. With neutral, as well as contemporary shades from the brown and red scale, the aesthetically impressive curtain fabric adapts to the most diverse environments in both the contract sector and for residential furnishing. The colours are sub divided into three groups in accordance to the degree that they cut out light: soft, regular and dark. 12 colours are now available in a 300 cm width. The new width greatly facilitates darkening of interiors which have large expanses of glass.

The collection has now been enlarged with “Dimmer Peach“: The matt surface ensues from heavy napping of the facing side. The soft fabrics are now also available in two new designs “Dimmer Reload“ which displays a graphic linear pattern and “Dimmer Matrix“, which consists of lines of irregularly arranged dots. The subdued design looks three dimensional and plays with the light. Both are coloured tone in tone and available in five colour settings, and team well with unis.
A successful symbiosis of functionality and aesthetics: The new “Dimmer” fabrics are versatile and effective for darkening interiors. The collection is available from specialist outlets in the autumn.
