Within our own four walls, we can indulge and celebrate these precious moments. Creation Baumann, the Swiss textile enterprise from Langenthal now offers the ‘Moments’ collection from the Living Line for us to enjoy at home.
Sensuous fabrics, flowing nature inspired designs and timeless colouring create a harmonious ambiance. The elegant, high quality collection encompasses sheer to heavy curtain fabrics and striking decor and upholstery fabrics. The 12 designs of the collection complement each other to perfection: - motifs from the world of plants, geometric designs, filigree embroideries and ornamental all-over designs unite in a well balanced entity. The collection is based on natural raw materials such as wool, silk and metal, blended with synthetic fibres, still further refined with complex finishes. Enchanting changeant effects alternate with matt and textured surfaces. The colour palette encompasses natural and timeless colourits that range from soft grey and earthy brown to moss green. Accents are set with warm reds and fresh blues.
One of the highlights of the collection is the high-quality ‘Shani’ curtain fabric. The sea of blooms on the filigree fabric is a masterpiece of embroidery technique. Oversized flowers and climbers are scattered across the highly sheer tulle. The contours of every single bloom are cut out by hand and lend this costly textile an individual and unique quality. With its diverse colourits, the fabric brings nature inside and makes an eye-catching decorative display at the window. ‘Sentiero’ makes an equally striking show at the window. A shimmering leno weave in silk is sewn onto sheer tulle. Bold stripes are then once again cut away by hand. The resulting look is one of suspended cross stripes that look as if they were floating on tulle – the effect is further enhanced by the embroidered lines of undulating yarn. The combination of high quality craftsmanship with the latest embroidery techniques bestows a hint of Haute Couture.
Another demonstration of outstanding textile expertise is the ‘Daloa’ jacquard fabric. Thanks to its sophisticated mix of high quality materials: - linen, wool and metal – the two-layered fabric is slightly malleable and therefore perfect for staging drapes and décor. It seduces with crushed effects and an interplay of contrasts. The high metal content in ‘Saria’ also allows for artistic shaping of the fabric. The metal-cotton weave combines two colours and depending on colourit, the design is reminiscent of rock strata, dunes or waves. The shiny facing side and the fabric’s mat sheen on the back generate interesting changeant effects in draping.
The ‘Tara’ and ‘Tao’ fabrics are exquisitely soft and smooth. The two single colour prints on wool captivate with an elegant understated design. Whilst fine lines interweave to form a bold net in ‘Tara’, rows of stylised blooms create a stunning all- over design in ‘Tao’. These decorative highlights are complemented by fine Trevira CS-fabrics that feature tone in tone striping or delicate texturing and with silk fabrics in muted colours.
