New materials and effects
Ever since glass fronted buildings have been in existence, they have given rise to a demand for visually pleasing and technically effective sunscreens. At a time of resurging ornamental embellishments in architecture, fabric panels are increasingly becoming decorative elements. With “Systems” Création Baumann, the Swiss textile enterprise from Langenthal, offers aesthetically pleasing solutions for windows – for both the contract sector and for residential furnishing.

Thanks to innovative technology the successful range, which includes fabric panels, Roman and Austrian blinds, roller blinds as well as vertical blinds will now be supplemented with a whole series of poster like panels. The additions focus on new materials and effects. The “Network” burnout introduces texture to interiors – dense net weave sections alternate with a light grid design that looks as if it had been hand drawn. The fabric, which is available in three colour settings, is supplemented by matching uni qualities. Two different fabrics produce trompe-l’oeil effects: - The digital “Aurora“ print creates a three dimensional look with dots of light to which, on request, additional laser cutting can be added and incorporated into the design to allow more light to penetrate. The digital “Jali” print is reminiscent of ancient Indian window architecture, producing an aspect of depth. Both fabrics are available in three colours and can be teamed with uni-qualities from the comprehensive Universal collection.
The “Spider” fabric has been overhauled for the collection. Laser technology generates new effects on a delicate fleece. Whilst in “Centro”, rows of circles deliver attractive and stimulating fabric panels, in “Piazza” it is diamond shapes. Both products are also available in metallic colours. The panel “Intarsia” flirts with light and three dimensionality. “Spider” and “Naxos” are combined in a thrilling combination. The double weave is held together at fixing points; laser-cut circles provide sheerness. The fabric can be teamed to perfection with the “Spider“ uni.

Another highlight is based on yet another new material. The use of translucence foil generates milk glass effects at the window. Although the matt “Opaco” foil is not transparent, light transmission values reach a staggering 90% percent . The material is available in two different designs, in either a standard or a flame retardant finish. Using revolutionary new cutting technology accurate patterns are cut into the foil.

All panels are manufactured to individual measurements at Création Baumann to a maximum width of 120 cm and a height of 300 cm. Most of the panels are flame retardant - destined to be attractive eye catchers in public and residential areas. Available from specialist outlets from the end of August.
