In the land of the fairies
The new “Poesia“ collection from the ‘Living Line’ by Création Baumann

Often, everyday life is clearly structured and dominated by clear structures, rational and at times a hectic pace. This makes emotional indulgence within ones own four walls all the more important. Création Baumann, the Swiss textile enterprise from Langenthal, plays homage to beauty and poetry. Sensuous fabrics, dreamy, organic designs and ever changing colour nuances from the new “Poesia” collection, from the ‘Living Line’, invoke a magical ambiance. The elegant, high quality ranges from sheer to heavy curtain fabrics and hard wearing decor and upholstery fabrics. Supplemented with matching unis a total of fifteen designs interplay:- floral patterns, refined jacquards and ingenious screen prints unite in one harmonious entity. Colour combinations range from cool silver and whites, delicate pinks and greens to warm brown and blue shades.
The highlight of the high quality collection is “Lorien“, a half linen fabric. Its rambling design of climbers, blooms and butterflies conjure up an idyllic fairytale setting. “We want to bring poetry to everyday life. Our new collection took its inspiration from the realm of the fairies”, explains Irma Faeh, the product manager. Depending on colourway, the pearl print on half linen evokes in interiors an air of cool, moonlit nights or the soft light of dawn. The fabric “Lorellin“ is a variation on the same theme, featuring greater detail and a less poster-like look. The pearl print on silk adds shimmering changeant effects.
“Alanis”, the leno weave appears as delicate gossamer. The sheer 300 cm wide fabric enchants with a broad border of embroidered leaves. The jacquard “Aiyana“ is also adorned with floral motifs. From afar, the underlying striped, semi transparent weave which can be used on either side, looks like a plissé fabric with veiled blossoms. The two coloured upholstery jacquard “Arabesque” carries the onlooker to yet another land of enchantment, with ornamental blooms and rambling climbers it is more than the name alone that is reminiscent of the Orient.
Three fabrics of the new collection are themed on flowing wave movement: wave-like stripes create movement in the sheer cut-thread “Duna” fabric. The wave pattern is repeated in “Vana“, a soft velour upholstery jacquard and “Vivienne” - a hazy screen print on cotton for curtaining. “Vivienne“ and “Lorien “ are also available as decorative wallpaper; a distinctly decorative eye catcher.
The complementing foil to the ornamental fabrics are unis that emanate serenity and calm, such as “Ravi“, a shimmering, yarn dyed fabric in wild, shot silk in a range of 35 colours, and “Numa”, an easy care polyester upholstery fabric that looks like silk. The sensuous “Poesia“ collection ingeniously brings a playful element to interiors and promotes individuality and individual style. The collection will be available in specialist outlets from September.
