Nearly 18'000 visitors at the exhibition
The 13th edition of Designers’ Saturday took place on the first weekend of November in 2010. Again thousands of people were drawn to Langenthal for the event. Nearly 18,000 persons visited the captivating presentations of international exhibitors at the impressive exhibition venues.
The Designers' Saturday started in bright autumn sunshine on Friday, 5 November, with the Preview for Professionals. The idea of the organisers in adding an extra day for an invited professional audience was to avoid the crowded throngs of recent years. This proved very effective. More than 6000 architects and design professionals came to Langenthal to attend the Preview. So although nearly 18,000 visitors meant a slight increase on last year's occasion, they could be better distributed over the weekend.
Design professionals and members of the general public interested in design from all parts of Switzerland and from neighbouring countries came to Langenthal to see the exciting presentations of the 71 exhibitors and Cartes Blanches at the six locations and to find out about the latest trends in architecture, design and interior decoration. Soap bubble laboratories, colour tunnels and concerts on furniture instruments illustrated the process of design creation and gave the visitors insights into different aspects of the imaginative shaping of form.
Nearly 14’000 guests visited Création Baumann over the three days and became inspired by the elaborate product presentations of the 13 guest companies. Création Baumann seduced the visitors with a colour tunnel made of 120 plain coloured fabrics. Captivating light effects and selected music allowed immersing in the harmonical world of colours.
