Initial situation
A retirement hotel rather than old people’s home: a new ambience for the residents of Alterszentrum Lädeli.
The fresh colour concept awakens emotions and has a sustainable effect on the day-today lives of the residents.
Solution
A consistent material and colour idiom is apparent throughout. The colours in all the rooms are designed to be calming as well as stimulating. Green is used as a leitmotif throughout the whole building, lending the interior authenticity and harmony. Patients in the dementia department experience a positive effect from the systematic concept of colour and material, and from the light, airy fl oral curtains in particular.
