Initial situation

The high architectural demands of the auditorium Paul Klee Center in Berne, also comprised great expectations in the acoustic quality of the auditorium. Reverberation needed to be taken into account to ensure the impeccable quality of transmission of every single syllable and every single note of music.

Solution

99 individual adjustable textile roller blinds, printed with the picture of the wall behind them fulfill the requirements of various different acoustic conditions. Thanks to the Trompe-l’oeil effect, the desired overall visual effect could also be achieved.

(Digital printing was used to print the fabric developed specifically for these roller blinds.)
