Re:Centre is a tastefully converted 400 m² space in Thames Wharf, Hammersmith, which was designed as a sanctuary of rest and reflection for a variety of events and activities, including yoga, exhibitions and workshop courses for large groups.
The requirement was to find a curtain to improve the acoustics, which could be hidden if possible when not in use.
The Acoustic Divider Vario separates the entrance area from the event space visually, reduces the sound from the café and absorbs the echo effect.
The installation was a challenge particularly because the Acoustic Divider Vario was positioned on a sloping floor between two rooms. The curtain has to lie flat on the floor in order to ensure sound reduction and absorption. This was achieved by using chain weights in the hem.
